Some days, we wish we could travel back in time to another instance in our life to relive those memories again.
Raising a family means years full of memories, changes, accomplishments, and little moments. But all that can pass by so quickly. Between the busyness of parenthood responsibilities, and the chaos of new demands, it’s easy for those memories to feel lost in time.
We find ourselves reflecting on moments when our children were even littler. Before we know it, our kiddos will be all grown up, no longer wanting to hold our hands or play dress up. It's so important to capture moments with our families now, so that we can preserve them for the future.
Meet: The Disher Family
Hayden and Terry returned to Reflections to celebrate the arrival of their baby girl, Ava. During their first visit for Hayden’s maternity session, they were a bit worried that they might need directing during the photoshoot. But we ended up having lots of fun, and that fun carried through to their beautiful three-month session!
Hayden had originally booked a newborn session, but wasn't feeling up to being photographed right after Ava arrived. So we waited for her to be a little older and captured lots of personality for them. I gave them lots of prompts to talk about or do together, and I didn't have to "pose" them much at all!
Find opportunities to be present in the moments
When we spend time with our families, it can be easy to get caught up in our heads on our never-ending list of tasks. Like remembering to pack those cupcakes for school tomorrow. Or become focused on trying to create a “perfect” moment. Hint, these don’t exist!
But time goes by too quickly to let those thoughts or fears control how we show up for our family. Dive into every moment with your children. When you look back in a few years, you’ll wish you could return to those memories.
