Perks of Outdoor 6-Month Baby Photography
I don’t think it’s a secret that I just adore the six-month baby milestone sessions.
This milestone is so precious because your sweet, snuggly, sleepy newborn is now a chubby, mobile, and smiling baby!
If you’re researching 6-month baby milestone sessions and considering an outdoor or a studio session, after you read this, you can check out my other post with 6 perks of a studio 6-month baby milestone session to help you make a decision.
No matter what type of baby photography session you choose, please know that the six-month milestone baby session is always worth it. This session helps you hit the pause button and truly savour this time with your baby.
Today, I’d love to share a few reasons why you might love an outdoor 6-month baby photography session.
4 Perks of an Outdoor 6-Month Baby Photography Session
1. No Props Needed - We don’t include props with an outdoor session. Sometimes with my studio baby photography sessions, I’ll bring out small wooden toys, use a mirror, or other neutral props for baby to interact with during the session. With an outdoor session, I don’t bring any props, and instead, your baby interacts with you and the beautiful outdoors.
2. Fresh Air - The studio’s air is quite nice as well, but there is something to the fresh air outside! Your whole family will feel very happy and relaxed. This sweet family loves spending time outdoors, so, of course, we decided to have this session outside where they love to be.
3. Meaningful Background - Another perk is having a meaningful background for this session. During this session, we captured some beautiful family shots with the town of Grimsby as the backdrop. This will be a gorgeous image to look back on and remember spending a late afternoon playing with your sweet baby.
4. Family-Focused Photography - If your family has older children or possibly a pet you want to include, heading outdoors might work really well. I love including immediate family in this session and documenting the growing bond you all share.
Scheduling Outdoor Portrait Sessions
Another point I want to mention is that with outdoor portrait sessions, we have to take into consideration the time of day. We want the best natural light for your photos, so we have to work around weather conditions and the sun. Inside the studio, we have better flexibility around your schedule and don’t have to worry about rescheduling due to weather.
Because of where we live, an outdoor baby session isn’t possible during the cold winter months, so you’ll want to take that into consideration as well. If you really want an outdoor baby session in January, for example, we could add some greenery to the studio backdrop to give it an outdoorsy vibe too.
