In Black and White

Black and white. It is simple and timeless. Black and white allows the viewer to see every detail and feel every emotion. Newborns were made for black and white. The simply beautiful details of a newborn baby are perfect in black and white. The truest love of all between a mother and her new baby. The pride of a father as he looks down at his newborn. In black and white, the focus is on these connections.

My galleries typically include a color and black and white version of each image. For this post, I am only sharing the black and white versions. My hope is that after viewing the images from Declan's gallery that you feel as though you have held Declan in your arms and studied his handsome face, and that you can feel the intense love his parents have for him.

Declan has picked the most wonderful parents. I was lucky enough to photograph the wedding reception of his parents, Stephanie and Eric, two years ago. I am so excited for them as they embark on the next chapter of their love story. During their viewing session, Stephanie teared up looking at the images of her perfect newborn baby boy. They ordered the image above as an enlargement to display in their home.
