The Next Chapter

A photographer is a storyteller. Instead of words, we use images to tell our story. Wedding photographers tell the story of a grande and spectacular day, and the love story of two. Family photographers tell the continuing love story of life and family. One of an unknown number of people when the story begins.

This is Matthew. He is the focus of the next chapter in his family's love story. I photographed his sister, Katie, as a newborn in 2013. In 2014, his big brother William made his appearance and I did his newborn session as well. 

Matthew is already the type of person who never wants to miss a thing. At the start of the session, he was awake and very alert. I love it when newborns are awake but calm enough to put down to get some beautiful awake images. The hope is to also get some images of baby sleeping but Matthew had other plans. Matthew loved attention, and wanted to make sure he did not miss a thing! His curiosity about the big, new world around him was wonderful to witness.

I look forward to watching this family's love story continue, and welcome them back at any time to record the next chapters through images of love and life.
