When you’re in the early stages of motherhood with your baby, it’s easy to get lost in the day-to-day motions and forget what a truly big deal certain milestones are.
I know how badly you crave appreciating the moment and making your daily life feel special (...but also, it’s just hard when you’re doing what feels like the 175th load of laundry that day and yet you are somehow still walking around with spit-up on your shirt). I created the First Year Collective to help you feel special and celebrate these major milestones in your baby’s life.

Let’s catch up with the Goodale family as they celebrate baby Amelia’s one-year milestone! Parents Jennifer and Zachary purchased the Reflections First Year Collective package when they were expecting their first girl, Amelia. What is the First Year Collective?
It’s my most popular photography session-series for parents, wrapped into one amazing package to serve you better!
I created the First Year Collective offering to help my clients save time and money during the first 18 months of their baby’s life. Since baby’s grow the most during this time period than in any other time of their life, there are so many incredible changes you want to capture in photos.
With the First Year Collective, you can sign up for either 3 or 4 sessions anytime throughout your maternity, newborn and first year milestone stages.
Each of your 3-4 sessions includes everything you normally experience during a family session, including wardrobe for the whole family and hair and makeup for Mom!

This is a really helpful timeline to consult when choosing which three or four sessions you would like to include in your baby’s first-year collective.
Maternity
At 32 weeks, your growing baby bump will be the perfect shape and size to be photographed! And you’ll have full access to my curated collection of stunning maternity dresses. Often many of my clients use this photography opportunity as part of their “Baby Moon” experience. We’ll make it a fun and relaxing time to honour the life you’ve built together so far, and celebrate the exciting new stage you’re about to enter.
Newborn
An exciting opportunity to welcome Baby into the world! Let’s give you a breath of serenity in the midst of this big change. We’ll capture the teeny-tiny features of your new baby with swaddled poses, close-ups on hands, feet, lips and of course, lots of snuggles. These sessions are so full of the simplest awes and wonders as you really get to explore your new emotional and physical connection as a family.
Three Months
It’s tummy time! Working these muscles is the foundation of many development stages to come. For some lucky parents, this stage is called the enchanted months because Baby is now in a rhythm of sleeping and eating, making them relatively happy, smiley and predictable. Their smiles also become a lot more intentional at this stage, especially when they’re proud of themselves for rolling over from their tummy to their back – oh, my heart. Priceless.
Six Months
It’s Baby’s first sitting photos! (This also means adorable baby-bum shots when they can sit down with their backs facing us and then turning towards the camera.) We’ll also capture them on their backs, reaching for their new favourite thing – their toes! Their big smiles, giggles and coos are abundant when they visit my studio at this stage.
Nine Months
Watch out world, Baby is on the move! Let’s capture them in motion while they crawl in the wide-open Reflections Studio space, climb over pillows, chase their siblings at lightning speed on hands and knees, and play with toys. We’ll encourage just the right amount of playful mischief for some extra-cute smiles. When parents bring their babies to my studio during this stage, they are totally enchanted by the simple magic of it all.
One Year
Happy first birthday Baby! Whether Baby is crawling, standing or walking, no matter where they’re at we’ll celebrate the achievements you’ve seen in this first year of their life. I’ll bake a cake to add some festive joy as we watch them celebrate, clap, and maybe even bounce to music! (And we can give them a cute bubble bath afterward to clean them up if they love to splish-splash in the tub).
