Are You Fully Alive Yet?
Are You Fully Alive Yet?
There is this goodness that fills our souls when we are with our children. It is like this fresh breath from heaven that fills our lungs where we come alive in the purity, in the life, in the joy that these little lives carry.
That simple way that they throw their head back with abandon when they giggle. That way that the move their hands all over the place when they are telling a story. That way that they seem to snuggle just perfectly right into our arms. That way that they aren’t filled with fear or anxiety for what is to come, but they sit in every moment, fully here.
These little lives that we care for in our homes and in our hearts, that have captured us and changed us forever. These little lives that we guard and pray for and want the best for in every situation. These little lives that are so overflowing with purpose you wonder if you just get close enough, it might touch you too.
These little lives that are teachers and mentors and lovers and anchors and messengers in their own right asking us this one question, “Are you fully alive, yet?”
About This Family Session
This is Stephanie, Eric and Declan's third session with me. Here's their adorable newborn session when he was teeny tiny.
I just love watching toddlers run and play on the beach. Everything is a new adventure. Declan loved throwing rocks into the water, running down the pathway and watching his parents blow bubbles on the bench.
He is so loved by his parents, and I've got to say - I've grown pretty attached to him too. I mean, look at this kid and the expressions he makes. He's amazing! xo

Hi there, I'm Karen Byker from Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. I'm obsessed with newborn baby yawns, giggling kids and fancy flavoured tea.
I'm a mother of four that understands the overwhelm of the every day, but I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it. I believe we should be able to enjoy this life we chose.
I've been a professional photographer since 2005. I've helped hundreds of mamas to slow down, pause and use photography as a reminder to take a breath.
I'd love to talk with you about documenting the beauty through your chaos. Let's chat!
