These Are The Moments Worth Capturing

These are the moments worth capturing

Sometimes we focus on the big events and milestones, but the moments truly worth capturing are found in the day-to-day, the messy, the mundane and the simple. They are found in the way that a Mom looks at her baby just so and the way that his giggle spreads just across his little cheeks and the look of devotion exchanged between a parent and a child.

That it is those moments when grief collides with intense joy and when good news is received and in the way that gratitude is like medicine to our very souls. It is those moments that sometimes smell like cookies or baby powder or lilacs or old clothes, but how they remind us of everything that is good and perfect. Everything that we can treasure, some that we get to hold with our very hands and some that we do not.

These moments are worth capturing for the joy that they are, for the way that they are beautiful and meaningful, for the way that they give us something to love and something to celebrate.

About this family session

Kelly was born and raised in Sudbury, but she's been living And working in Ottawa for the last seven years. She's a flight dispatcher with First Air, an airline that operates in Nunavut and North west territories.

Little Benjamin is the love of her life. She adores his beautiful eyes. They are so expressive and he can give you the funniest of looks. Her greatest wish for Ben is that he be accepting of all walks of life, having compassion.

Kelly's been in contact with me for a little while, trying to schedule a session when she was here in Niagara visiting her parents Janet & Wolfgang. We decided to incorporate their beautiful relationship with Ben into these images too. I am in love with the images of Ben and his grandpa playing blocks on the studio floor. xo

Client Testimonial

"I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Karen from start to finish. She took care of every detail so all I had to do was show up. Karen was very sweet and gave us a warm welcome. She was very patient with my son and made sure he had fun by giving him toys to play with that would allow for great shots." - Kelly Guembel

Benjamin's Album Design

Hi there, I'm Karen Byker from Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. I'm obsessed with newborn baby yawns, giggling kids and fancy flavoured tea.

I'm a mother of four that understands the overwhelm of the every day, but I've learned how to embrace and enjoy the beauty of it. I believe we should be able to enjoy this life we chose.

I've been a professional photographer since 2005. I've helped hundreds of mamas to slow down, pause and use photography as a reminder to take a breath.

I'd love to talk with you about documenting the beauty through your chaos. Let's chat!
