The Face Of A Newborn
There is this look on the face of a newborn as they sleep where it is almost as if they have surrendered to complete peace. It is almost like in that very moment you wonder if God might be hugging them. And sometimes even as we get older and as we age, as we sleep, we still hold that exact same expression.
It is the expression of being completely at peace and one hundred percent at rest.
From a very young age, we are taught to be busy. Some of us learn to-do lists faster than we learn how to play. And it almost like there is this invitation if we can lean to it from these little lives and to learn how to be still, to rest, to surrender to this peace that goes beyond understanding.
To know that at the end of every day, we can let go of the things that weigh us down and we can be free.

I am obsessed with newborn baby yawns, and little Ferris did not disappoint. I love how many sweet little yawns we captured, and there is so much personality in his images. He was calm, content, and peaceful during his sleepy session, and so handsome.
