Connections

Life is a series of connections. Some connections take time to build and strengthen. Others are solidified in an instant. When a new baby arrives, those instant connections are overwhelming. A fresh life has the innate ability to connect with each new person he meets. His mama and daddy, of course. That bond was already being developed before he was born. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends come to meet the new love and instantly form their own special connection.

One of the most special connections a newborn makes is with his older sibling. It is a connection created in that first moment of meeting that lasts a lifetime. A brother, a best friend, a confidante, a motivator and a playmate. Together they can do and be anything.

I photographed big brother Giovanni as a newborn. I was so excited to see his connection with his new baby brother, Santino. Brothers. A connection already filled with so much energy and love. A connection that will grow deeper and stronger with every passing day. It is an honour and a privilege to be able to capture these moments for this family and for these brothers.
